Mission
Our mission is to work with sustainable ecotourism projects from multiple perspectives, taking into account environmental, economic and social dimensions, based on renewable energy, fossil fuels free with net zero carbon emissions, where people live in harmony with nature in the shape of forests, mountains, rivers, glaciers, wetlands and wildlife, etc.
Our special focus is on green technologies, use of upcycled local waste resources to eliminate problems of waste disposal and landfills, creating jobs for young people and local communities in the field of ecotourism, waste/water and sewage treatment and the construction industry. Our mission is to treat waste as a resource that can be turned into an asset.
We believe in a participatory and inclusive approach to contribute to Agenda 2030 – leaving no one behind – and to achieving all 169 targets of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Our Expertise
We have over 30 years of working experience in Asia and Europe. One of the founders of Peak Education, Dr. Sikander Khan, has been extensively working in Asia since 1977.
The other founder Mrs. Elisabeth Berg Khan, has been working with international development cooperation assistance for more than twenty years and spent several years in Asia.

Dr Khan has visited over 150 countries and speaks more than 10 languages.
Publications
Dr Khan has published over 55 papers and four books (translated into several languages) and has frequently lectured on these topics at universities and organizations worldwide (several hundred conferences and workshops).
Present assignments:

Professional experience & expertise
Dr Sikander Khan obtained his PhD in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) from Stockholm Business School, Stockholm University (SBSSU). Dr Khan is a Senior Advisor to business enterprises, MNCs, United Nations, Government and top business schools, on sustainable green tech solutions with a focus on green ecotourist resorts, establishing hospitality academies, innovation and knowledge centers related to green technologies for ecotourism management and other building complexes with net zero carbon emissions. - Sustainable green ecotourist resorts or other types of complexes which are fossil fuels free, based on 100% renewable energy with net zero carbon emissions;
- Develop projects which are designed to be sustainable from multiple perspectives: environmental, social, operational, and improving quality of life. Large part of building material used are recycled nontoxic and certified materials. These types of projects are expected to bring all 169 targets from the 17 SDGs into focus.
- Establishing hospitality academies/smart colleges in the field of green ecotourism management, which are connected to well-known reputable hospitality academies/universities in Europe the USA, Canada, Australia, China, Korea, Singapore and Japan;
- Establishing innovation and and knowledge centres related to green technologies for ecotourism and green buildings construction with net zero carbon emissions;
- Sustainable building design; buildings using “passive house” components in construction materials and design, energy efficient cooling and heating systems with “building-integrated photovoltaic” (BIPV) and so forth;
- Energy efficiency & renewable energy such as solar and wind power systems including solar thermal chimneys with heat exchangers (for cooling/air conditioning and heating); tidal/wave energy; desalination plants; water Management (for example: clean drinking water from the air); waste management: RDF – Refuse derived fuel, MSW – Municipal Solid Waste incineration, Waste-to-energy (WtE) facilities with no landfills; sewage and waste water treatment; biogas and biofuels; geo-thermal energy; micro hydro power plants; and smart greenhouses;
- Assist in project financing including blue and green bonds – preparing project proposals, feasibility studies, environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA studies according to the IFC/World Bank standards);
- Prepare ecotourist resorts and other types of complexes for Green Growth Certification, LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Certification, and WELL (WELL Building Standard Program);
- Organize and lead knowledge-based study tours in Asia, Africa and the Middle East for CEOs, Board members and senior executives. Visits involve interactive meeting with high ranking government officials, senior management of public, private and foreign sector enterprises, think tank groups, well-known academicians and researchers, and R & D centres;
- Assisting business schools in preparing for international accreditation such as EQUIS, EFMD and AACSB Accreditations;
Special Awards and Prizes
- Dr Sikander Khan was awarded the “Lifetime Honorary Membership” by the Students’ Business Association at Stockholm Business School, Stockholm University (SBSSU) on 26 May 2004.
- Dr Sikander Khan have been nominated for the Ballerina Prize twice: 1995 – 96 and 1996 -97 and received the Ballerina Prize in 1997. The Ballerina is an award given each year by students to a teacher or other employee within the Stockholm Business School, Stockholm University who has contributed in some way to “the good academy“.
- Scholarship granted for 4 years by the Government of Sweden (a postgraduate scholarship awarded annually to outstanding students) to undertake Doctor of Economics studies at the Stockholm University. Awarded PhD in FDI (Foreign Direct Investment)/Project Management, SBSSU, Stockholm, Sweden.
- Scholarship granted for 4 years by the Government of Turkey within the Regional Co-operation for Development (RCD member states: Iran, Pakistan and Turkey), Technical Co-operation Programme (scholarship awarded annually to outstanding students). Awarded Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business Administration, Middle East Technical University (METU), Ankara, Turkey.
Elisabeth Berg Khan
Present assignments:
Elisabeth Berg Khan is presently working as a Program Manager specialist at Sida, (Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency) with special focus on cooperation with civil society organizations, innovation and doing development differently.

Professional experience & expertise
Elisabeth is an Economist and Social Scientist by background and has worked with Sida for many years in the field of cooperation with civil society organisations, communications and learning methods, Global Education, environmental issues and more recently innovation and partnerships.
She has also experience from working with the United Nations, UNWRA, with assistance to the Palestinian refugees in the Gaza strip, and as a short time consultant for UNIDO in Vietnam with an Investor’s Forum in Ho Chi Minh City.
One key interest of Elisabeth’s is to study companies’ performance and sustainable business behaviour from different stakeholders’ point of view. She participated in the research work on a comprehensive industrial survey of Foreign Companies’ Strategies in Japan and has carried out research on sustainable leadership in SMEs in China and Pakistan.
She has also guest lectured for MBA students on Corporate Social Responsibility in China.
